How I Got My Monthly Pinterest Views To 1 MILLION!

How I Got My Monthly Pinterest Views to 1 Million

I began my blogging journey just about 2 months ago (april 2017). At first I had no idea what I was in for. I began blogging mostly because I was becoming depressed. Blogging was a way for me to share my thoughts and create a more positive outlook on life. The more I wrote the happier I felt. Before blogging I used Pinterest as a source of entertainment! I would also find motivation and positivity via Pinterest which helped me a ton!

As a blogger one of the most important tools you should be using to get your work out there is Pinterest. I fell in love with Pinterest 9 months ago. That was when I really began to try and build my Pinterest following.

1million, 1million monthly views on pinterest

Below is a list I have put together for you all. It is a list of my secrets and tips to grow your Pinterest following and to get your Pinterest monthly views to 1 million or more just like me!

First things first is, in order to see your analytics (monthly views) you need to convert your Pinterest account to a business account! Keep in mind you will only be able to do this on your desktop computer! You also can not see your stats on the mobile version either.

Here is where you can learn how to convert to a business account!

Pin Consistently

I put this at the top of my list because, above all it is EXTREMELY important. The more you pin, the more you get noticed. Whenever I have free time, I would pin! While watching a tv show, I would scroll through Pinterest and re pin everything that caught my eye. Staying active on Pinterest is key! Also ** don’t just pin your own pins! It’s a good thing to rep in others pins as well! It’s all about time and dedication. NOW – if you don’t have the time to pin consistently, I suggest investing in Tailwind which is a pin scheduler. This allows you to put your pins (and blog posts) on auto pilot! I schedule my pins weekly and let Tailwind do the rest!

Have Organized Boards

Having organized boards makes it a lot easier for others to look through your Pinterest. For some ideas you can check out my Pinterest boards here! I like to group my boards into categories. I find that if I make my group boards straight to the point and not too “wordy”, it really helps! The style I use looks like this:

Fashion | Look Book

Home | Kitchen

Hacks | Beauty

Fashion | Accessories

It keeps your Pinterest looking clean and organized! Which makes it a lot easier for others to search through your Pinterest.

Join Group Boards

I say this every time. Why? Because it is so important to establishing not only your blog, but your Pinterest! Most group Pinterest boards have instructions on how to join. Simply follow the instructions and before you know it you will have an invite! Most of the time you have to email or message the group board creator. Right now I am a part of about 7 or 8 group boards. I also have one of my own that I created. If you’d like to join it, check it out here!

Create Eye Catching Pins

Style and uniqueness is highly recommended if you want to get your pin noticed! I love to use Canva to help me to create the perfect pin! I also noticed that vertical pins get a lot more attention than horizontal pins. In Canva they actually have a Pinterest section that has the PERFECT ideal size for your pins.

Follow Other Pinners & Boards In Your Niche

This is a great way to get engagement on your Pinterest. If you are following others who pin the same topics as you, they will more than likely follow you back!

Re Pin

Don’t just focus on posting only your own pins. Like I said above. Re pinning others’ pins gives you so much more engagement! Re Pin, Re Pin, Re Pin!  UPDATE: I Came up with the perfect pinning strategy that BOOSTED my blog traffic views almost triple AND counting!

I created an affordable $32 E – Course that breaks everything down for you: HERE

What’s Trending?!

Try to focus on what is trending on Pinterest and re pin or post pins that are related. I also enjoy re pinning pins from the trending section as well. Super helpful!

Join Facebook Groups

Join Facebook groups specifically for Pinterest or groups for blogging. They will usually have comment threads where you can post your Pinterest and pins. It’s a good way to expand your audience. If you’d like to join my Facebook group “Boss Girl Bloggers” it’s filled with supportive lifestlye, beauty, & makeup female bloggers! We can help get you on your way to a successful blog! Feel free to join here !

I find that If I post comments on pins that are popular it helps. People love when others engage with them. They will be more likely to follow you and share the love back!

Keyword Optimization

Pinterest is pretty much a search engine! If you use awesome keywords in your description of your pin, it will be more likely to show up when someone uses the search bar. Descriptive words go a long way. Use unique titles as well when creating your own pin! Many would say it’s ideal to use 20-30 keywords in promoted pins!

Tailwind / Scheduling Pins

Tailwind was a game changer and a huge reason as to why my blog traffic increased! Of course, as I said, pinning consistently is important! Not everyone has the time! I personally have never used tailwind BUT I figured I would add it to the list because so many have seen such great success from it. Tailwind  is a tool that helps schedule pins and will pin for you when you are unable to.

Figure Out What Time You Have The Most Engagement

For me, I find that between the hours of 8pm-12am are prime hours to pin. Around this time is when people are usually laying down in bed or relaxing so they have the time to look on Pinterest! If you want to grow your Pinterest views you need to know when your audience is most active!

Pin What You Love

A secret to growing your Pinterest is; If you take pride in what you are pinning, others will too. Pin what you are passionate about! If you love what you are doing, eventually others will catch on. If you aren’t passionate about what you are doing, then maybe it’s not for you!

I hope these tips & tricks help! Happy Pinning everyone!

Very well written to the point article! I have a question, does too much repining have any negative affects on pinterests algorithms? Or do your followers feel overwhelmed?
I never repined vqbefore inspiteof being an pinterest addict.

  7. June 9, 2017 / 3:44 am

I have started to take Pinterest seriously the last 10 days / 2 weeks. I now see it’s huge potenial. I have been doing about 20-30 a day. Thanks for your tips. I will start repinning other peoples more than I have been. Cheers !!

Pinterest is the best and I wish I had discovered it earlier. I do agree with this post that pinning a lot of other people’s content will increase visibility. This week I got a huge spike in traffic because of that (which led to $100 in affiliate sales in just a few hours as a result of one big pinner pinning my pin)! Good luck!

Also question for Lauren – do you have a specific ratio that you work with? For pinning your content relative to others…?

That’s so awesome to here !! Keep up the good work(: but as for your question. I actually do not! I’d say I probably pin a lot more of others pin than my own. I’m trying to start having more of my own pins! What’s your Pinterest ? Would love to follow!
